Our 2019 Sessions

Two Different Pitch Competitions

2019 featured the chance to enter and participate in the Sustainability Presentation Challenge. These pitch sessions offered the Seatrade community the chance to present their own sustainability innovatio via a live elevator pitch-style presentation to a panel of high-profile judges! 

We're bringing it back for 2020, but while we finalize the details, feel free to familiarize yourself with last years' proceedings.

 

Monday 8 April

Monday’s pitch competition was open to Tour Operators, Shore Excursion Providers, local DMCs, and Destinations only. Monday pitches had to present a breakthrough idea or case study in one of the following areas:

  • Community engagement 
  • Waste reduction
  • Energy 
  • Destination sustainability
  • Innovation

Tuesday 9 April

Tuesday’s pitch competition was open to any vendor/supplier. Tuesday pitches had to present a breakthrough idea or case study in one of the following areas:

  • Sustainability/Green Initiatives
  • Waste Reduction/Recycling 
  • Technology 
  • Fuel 
  • Wind Energy  
  • Innovation
  • Non Plastics

FAQs - How to Enter

Q: What should your pitch focus on? 

A: Your pitch must introduce a new sustainability concept or case study and cover the following questions in your PowerPoint submission not to exceed 5 slides: 

Slide 1. Cover Slide – Brand Logo / Sustainablity Idea Topic

Slide 2.  Explain your sustainability concept / initiative  

Slide 3.  Define the challenge it is solving 

Slide 4.  What has been the impact of your sustainability initiatives?

Slide 5.   Conclusion – Summary Remarks

 

Q:  How can I enter the pitch competition?

A:  Your entry should be in the form of a PowerPoint presentation with a limit of 5 slides – if you are selected as a finalist you only will have 6 minutes to pitch the entire deck to our judges.  Any entries not in PowerPoint format or exceeding 5 slides will not be considered.  

 

Q:  How do I submit my entry?  

A:  Please use the template PowerPoint pitch deck to submit your entry.

Q: Where do I submit my pitch deck?

A: Submit all pitch series proposals/PowerPoint decks to [email protected]. It must be in the form of the official entry deck to be considered.
